BEH Weekly Family Message

We got to have our first student council meeting with our new student council last week and hear about all of the work that they plan to focus on in the coming year. I look forward to learning from them this year and helping them to accomplish all of that they aspire to.

Last week we were also able to hand out our student artists' panther T-Shirts. It was so fun to see students wearing our K-2 winning artist (Willow) and our 3-5 winning artist (Bowie).

This week there is no school, but Monday & Tuesday are our parent/teacher conferences. Don't forget to connect with your students' teachers and after your conference stop by the front office to exchange your parent/student/teacher compact for a BEH Forever Student sweatsuit.

The Annual Winter Food Drive will begin as soon as we return from Thanksgiving break. You can find more info in your child's communication folders from last week.

Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on November 25th & 26th. Please remember to sign-up and attend these conferences to connect with your student's teachers about how they are doing and how we can best support them through the rest of this school year. If you have not signed up for a time yet, look outside your student's class for the sign-up sheet or contact the teacher to get on their schedule. This year, we will have an added incentive for all parents to attend a conference with their student's teachers and we will be giving away student sweat suits to all students whose parents are able to attend a conference with their teacher.

If you are hoping to connect with our Art, Music, PE, or Library teachers during conferences, please connect with the techers via email to schedule a time on Monday or Tuesday.

For fifth grade famililes this is a great opportunity to connect with Ms. Eileen about middle school options if that is something you want to know more about or understand the lottery process.

We would really like your feedback around how we are doing in serving your students and family at Boise-Eliot/Humboldt. As of right now, we have 12 family surveys completed. Last year, we surpassed our goal of getting at least 50 family feedback and got 68 surveys completed (Woot woot).

If you would like to fill out the survey before or after your parent-teacher conference using one of our student chromebooks, please come by the office and look for Ms. Freeman and she’ll assist you with logging in and getting to the family survey. If Ms. Freeman is not available, please use the link below.

There is one week left of our Fall SUN School Term and it is now time to register for Winter Term of SUN School. Here is the link for registering for Winter SUN School. The term will run from January 6th - March 6th, 2025. There will also be QR codes available at the school during conferences to register as well.

On the Tuesday after Thanksgiving (December 3rd) nearly every business on Mississippi Avenue will be donating a portion of their profits to BEH to support our STEAM work (field trips, assemblies, projects, etc.). Here is a list of the participating businesses. If you have shopping or are considering getting food in the neighborhood that would be a good day to plan for, as 10% of what you spend at the participating businesses will come back to BEH and it will cost you nothing extra. It is amazing to have such a supportive community of businesses!!

November:
