Reminders/Resources
1. We always need extra clothing!
We need extra clothing for children to keep at our sites in case of accidents. If you have any clothing your children have outgrown please consider donating to your site so that all kids can have a change of clothes when needed. Also, if your child uses their change of clothing don't forget to wash and bring it back to school! Connect with your Family Service Worker or Community Agent if you would like to donate!
2. Ask your child what was the best part of their day today!
3. Resources
Multnomah County "Get Food" Guide Information
Multnomah County Common Application (apply for multiple programs with one application)
Rent, Housing, Shelter Assistance
Portland Parks & Rec activities
2-1-1 (for all other resources)
4. Policy on Health and Mental Health Emergencies in Classrooms
We prioritize your child's health and safety at school. All teachers are trained in First Aid, CPR, and Medication Administration. In a medical emergency, we will call 911 and notify caregivers immediately. For minor injuries, we will give first aid and inform caregivers right away.
If a child in the program shows signs of a mental health emergency, like extreme distress or unsafe behavior, the teacher will contact the school administrator and the Mental Health Consultant immediately. They will work together to calm the child and keep everyone safe, and families will be notified. If needed, the school team and family will create a plan to support the child at school tailored to their needs. Our goal is to ensure every child gets the help they need during a mental health emergency, creating a safe and supportive environment for all students.
