A Note from Principal Presley
This weekend, I have the joy of heading to Seattle for the Ducks vs. Huskies game. Send positive thoughts because a 12:30 PM start time means the evening could be ugly if the Ducks lose. We talk with kids about sportsmanship and simply enjoying the game, but maybe I need to start those efforts with my own husband!
This week, we held several interviews for both the open .5 administrative assistant position in the front office as well as the PE position we have been given, a pilot for middle schools across PPS who are in need of increasing PE minutes for students. Teachers also had the opportunity of working with PLCs to analyze the WIN (what I need) block and recap learning goals in daily lessons! We know that if students can anticipate what they are setting out to do, there is more clarity and focus in making it happen, so that's what learning targets/goals are designed to support.
This week, I also had the joy of guest teaching in a couple classrooms. We know cold bugs are going around, so it's all hands on deck here! To be honest, while I get none of my own work done during the day, I sure do love being in classrooms with kids; it really fills my bucket. A special shout out to many of our middle school teachers who jumped in to also help provide coverage in our K-5 and to our support staff for going wherever necessary to cover duties when we were short!
Looking back at this whirlwind of a week, I can't help but think how grateful I am to be surrounded by a staff who is all in for what it takes to make student days a success! As I look at what's to come next week, I think I'm most excited for the PTA fundraiser on Wednesday at Steeplejack! A fundraiser and a night out for dinner- what could be better!
Finally, my hope is you are heading into a 3 day weekend with your kids in a way that takes advantage of these temperatures; I don't know why, but as someone entering their first fall and full winter, I thought it would be colder by now!

Thank you!
A huge thank you to all the volunteers, staff, spectators, and students for making the run a success. We saw lots of smiles, laughs, and runners with no shoes (!). Altogether, 506 kids participated, running a total of 4,130 laps, which equals 1,032.5 miles. Wow!
How to donate
Donate online here. To ensure your student receives credit, either mention your student's name in the donation comments OR login to their personalized fundraising page. You may also turn in a check to the office labeled with your student's name.
