Marysville Message
April 4th, 2024
Dear Marysville Families
Welcome to Quarter 4. Unbelievably, we have reached the last quarter of another interesting school year. I'm looking forward to consistent and focused learning for the remaining months of the school year. Every day of learning counts especially this year. Daily attendance is the most important predictor of student success at school. It is recommended that students don't miss more than 12 school days a year in order to not fall behind their classmates academically.
We wanted to remind you that Monday, April 8 is an instructional day.
It was originally set aside to be a day off for students and a professional development day for educators, but it is now one of the eleven make-up days added to the calendar following this fall’s school closures. The other remaining make-up days are:
- June 12
- June 13
- June 14
If you have any questions, please contact your principal or school leader.
Thank you for your help in getting your child to school on time every day. Please let us know if we can help with that in any way.
We have a lot of things happening in the next few weeks.
Student Report cards for Quarter 3 will be sent home on Tuesday April 16th. Since Mr. Cunningham is out on paternity leave, there will not be any music marks or comments on this report card. All music progress will be reported on the Quarter 4 report card.
Dunja Marcum is the wonderful substitute teacher covering Music classes until Mr. Cunningham's return.
Hang Jones, Marysville Social Worker, is also on maternity leave for the remainder of the school year, following the happy occasion of the birth of her son, Minh Hy.

Snapchat Concerns
We are frequently having student upset and issues come up during school time that have resulted from comments made on social media, mostly snapchat, after school or during the weekends.
You can help to prevent these problems by monitoring the students use of these type of apps.
Snapchat Family Controls
Family Center helps parents get more insight into who their teens are friends with on Snapchat, and who they have been communicating with, while still respecting their teens’ privacy and autonomy. It's designed to reflect the way parents engage with their teens in the real world, where parents usually know who their teens are friends with and when they are hanging out, but don’t eavesdrop on their private conversations.
